A Pearly White Oscar Night

Pearly White on Oscar Night!

The elite were burning up the red carpet at the Oscars with their "White Hot" ensembles.
White was the color to be seen this year at the Oscars. Everyone from Anne Hathaway to Miley Cyrus were seen gracing the red carpet in this brilliant color. I had to stop and ask myself: "Why are designers suddenly using white to make statements?" White has traditionally been classified as a hue representative of the summer season, but designers are making a statement with their gowns. The psychology of the hue white is characterized as being pure, serene, sterile, and without fault. With all the trials that we are facing in our economy, white is the perfect color to get our minds thinking in the other direction. I give the designers an A+
Some of the style stars that were seen hitting the runway in white included:

~Taraji P. Henson
~Anne Hathaway
~Marisa Tomei
~Rachel Wood
~Tina Fey
~Jessica Biel

Whether you thought the choice of attire was a fashion DO or a fashion DONT, you have to agree that the color was right on target. With all this brilliant white, here are some ways to make your wardrobe shine for Spring 2009.

* Add white accessories to your LBD
* Wear a crisp white tee with jeans and cute stilettos
* Buy an asymmetrical LWD (little white dress)
* Add a white watch and sunglasses to your accessories and wear them with everything.

Congrats to all our Oscar winners but many rounds of applause to the designers & stylists who chose these beautiful frocks!

"White ... is not a mere absence of colour; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black...."
~Gilbert Keith Chesterton
