For years ladies have been wearing faux to accentuate their natural lashes. Faux lashes date back to 1916 when they were first invented by filmmaker DW Griffith. The initial prototypes were made of human hair that was sewn to gauze and then fused to the eyelids with a gum solution. Today, we have come a long way from our precursors. We now have our lashes on a thin strip or as individual lashes. Ideally, faux lashes should be used to make eyes seem more lush, inviting, or can be used to replace the natural lash in women who have thin or no lashes at all.
So here are some tools and tips for the Every Day Girl on faux lashes and their application:
Tools
*Tweezers (Tweezerman makes a great angled tip)
*Lash Glue (DUO comes either in clear or black)
*Lashes (I prefer Ardelle for cheap and M.A.C for luxury)
*Eyeliner
*Scissors (For clipping & trimming)
Application
1. When ever applying lashes be careful to not overdue anything unless it is INTENTIONAL
2. Use tweezers for trimming, gluing, and placement
3. Trim lashes to fit, if required
4. Place glue on back of hand and dip lash in glue
5. Place lash as close to natural lash line and hold so bonding can occur
TA DA! Finish your lovely new lashes by either curling them, applying mascara, or adding extra liner for a dramatic look.
Of course, it sounds completely easy but remember all great things take practice!
Now go ahead ladies, step out and bat those beautiful butterfly eyes!!!
(To remove lashes, use a warm washcloth to loosen glue then carefully peel away from skin)

I want to get eyelash extensions for my wedding, but i'm very skittish about applying stuff to my eyes. I'll probably go to a salon to do it and hope it comes out well.
