Everyday Cheap To Recessionista Chic'

From time to time every girl needs to clean out her makeup closet to take inventory and do necessary purging. While cleaning out my 'closet' I realized just how many things that I use that have other primary functions. For all the recessionistas here is a list of products that can be converted from their traditional use and used to accent your cosmetic closet.

Toothbrush: Old toothbrushes are fabulous for exfoliating elbows, knees, and other delicate or hard to reach areas such as the webs of your hands and feet. Add a sugar scrub and you have the perfect body polishing system.
Baby Wipes: Besides cleaning baby bottoms, wipes can be used to remove stubborn waterproof mascara. It can even be used as a quick clean up for makeup that has found its way to your clothes.

Tea Bags: Tea bags are good for more than just tea time with the girls. Dampened & chilled tea bags can be used to reduce puffiness around the eyes. Tea blends that contain herbs such as chamomile can also be used as a relaxing comfort after eyebrow waxing. Apply a damp cloth that has been soaked in Chamomile tea to the area of waxing and it will reduce the swelling & irritation.

Yogurt: Not only is yogurt a yummy and healthy snack it is also a great source for a facial! Plain yogurt has active cultures that can be used to reduce and remove excess oils from the face while moisturizing the skin at the same time.

Of course, there are many other products that can be added to your makeup arsenal but these are some of my fave's! For other information on turning everyday cheap items to recessionista chic' review the older post on homemade facials that can be done from the comfort of your kitchen.
As Always: Be Fashionable. Be Fabulous!
