Homemade Facials/Masques - Yummy!!

"The most important element of development is daring to fail"

With this in mind let me say that even though I like to consider myself a fashion and beauty guru- there is ALWAYS something to be learned. I picked up these tips on homemade facials from the buddies over at ESSENCE Magazine. So when you cant make that trip over to your local spa you can now turn your kitchen into your own personal skin oasis!

Dry Skin: Avocado
*Mash the pulps of avocados and apply over the face and neck
*Allow to sit for 10 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water
*The amino acids and proteins will leave your skin feeling silky smooth

Sensitive Skin: Egg Whites
*Beat one (1) egg white and apply to face and neck
* Allow to sit for 15 minutes, then rinse
*Egg whites are a nourishing treat for sensitive skin

Oily/Combination Skin: Banana
*Mash a ripe banana, add a tablespoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice
*Mix ingredients into a paste and apply to face
*Allow to sit for 15 minutes and rinse with warn water
* Banana calms the skin while citric acid helps to remove dry flaky skin

Acne Prone Skin: Herbs
*Mix mint and cilantro in a food processor
*Add water to make a paste
*Add powdered zinc to paste and apply to face
(Zinc can be found at a health food store or local vitamin shop)
*Allow to sit for 15 minutes then rinse
*Ingredients will increase the anti-inflammatory properties that the skin naturally has.

~Apply masques with a masque brush to eliminate extra radicals from penetrating the face~
